48 YEARS FEMALE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH LEFT basitemporal MENINGIOMA. Due to basal involvement, a skull base approach "LEFT-FRONTOTEMPORAL CRANIOTOMY, ORBITOZYGOMATIC OSTEOTOMY (FTOZ)" AND GROSS TOTAL EXCISION OF MENINGIOMA WAS DONE. The benefit of skull base approach is minimal brain retraction and injury, ease of tumour removal and ability to remove the tumour totally. The department is regularly using these and similar skull base approaches.
Equipments used in this case: Neurosurgical drills, reciprocating saw, neuronavigation.
Outcome: The patient recovered without any neurological deficits. Total tumour excision could be achieved.
