Intra-operative imaging using C-arm guidance has now become a standard of care for spinal surgeries. Conventional OT tables have metallic frames which interfere with this imaging specially for some surgeries as thoracotomies for dorsal spine, sacral fixations.
Allen table is a carbon fibre table with no metal artifact during while using C-arm. This is much narrower than a standard OT table providing much better ergonomics for the operating surgeon.
The neurosurgery department at Bansal Hospital has 3D C-arm which provides an intra-operative axial image of the spine. Allen Table is essential to provide optimal image quality. It also provides lot of flexibility in terms of the positioning, height, weight of patient and the level of spine to be operated upon. This is one of its kind in Central India.
