Dr Nitin Garg is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Bansal Hospital, Bhopal. He completed his graduation (MBBS) from Government Medical College, Nagpur. His awareness about lack of advanced neurosurgical facilities at Nagpur and other Tier-2 cities during his graduation and the challenges faced by patients to get best neurosurgical care in such cities impressed upon him the need to pursue neurosurgery and then practice in these areas. He completed his training in General Surgery from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. During his surgery training, he undertook research on Intracranial Aneurysms under Prof. Raja, a renowned neurosurgeon. Subsequently, he entered into his Neurosurgical training at the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru and was awarded the Gold Medal towards the completion of the residency.

Dr Nitin Garg participated in “International Brain Tumor Alliance (IBTA)” meet in USA in October. He is founder member of “Brain Tumor Support Group (BTSG) and Awareness Foundation”, which provides psychologixal support to patients and also conducts monthly Support Group meetings.
He was the only participant from India. He presented a paper and also chaired a session in this meeting.

✔ Dr Nitin Garg invited to presents his work on Spine Surgery
Dr Nitin Garg was invited by The Pacific and Asian Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery(PASMISS) to present his work on Minimally Invasive Surgical Techniques in the management of Tuberculosis of Spine in their 22nd Annual Conference held at Singapore from 29th till 31st July, 2022.
He has been working in this field since 2008 and has made an algorithm for managing tuberculosis of spine.
✔ Dr Nitin Garg was honoured to be invited by Brain Tumour Society of Singapore (BTSS) for their annual Brainy Car Rally for the support of Brain Tumour patients. This was held in Singapore on 31st July. The unique feature of this rally was that Brain tumour survivors were taken around the city in 16 Lamborghini cars. The flashy and stylish cars were driven by their owners who were kind enough to take the happy and energetic survivors around the city. This was a unique experience for all of them. Dr Nitin himself is the founder of Brain Tumour Support Group and Awareness Foundation India (BTSG) which is a patient advocacy group and provides psychological support to Brain Tumour patients and their care givers. It also manages a Brain Tumour patient support group.
